It is a great pleasure to attend this Forum today, and Dongrun Foundation is able to support innovation and the future of education. The two goals of innovation and the future of education are connected together. I thought it was my goal from my childhood. I wanted to do something different as a child. I think both our scientific prize and everyone are very successful. When I presented awards, I saw many students who did the first-rate job. Now, the work done by our middle school students is at the same level with those of the Intel Science Talent Search of the U.S.A.. In my view, I think that it is a very successful thing of “Dongrun-Yau Science Award” made by Dongrun Foundation. I hope this Forum and Dongrun Foundation can keep supporting the young people.
I think it is good for private equity to support education. China is so big. There were almost 10 million students who graduated from the high schools in 2010. If the Chinese government doesn’t have a regular rule, the chaos will be caused in supporting the secondary education through the college entrance examination. Every parent expects his child to be good, and it is unlikely to achieve that without a fair way. But, there are a group of very good children, who can be supported with different methods and private funds. We also have a number of ideal young people, with different ways to cultivate them. It is hoped that these young people will be able to grow to be important leaders in the world, for the prosperity of science and technology throughout the country. Many of these young people go abroad, hoping that they can return home to start business together.
We must know that the scientific development has its own regulations from servicing country and the enterprise. Many scientists are to do research and we don’t necessarily ask them about the achievement. I hope that many children take Mr. Yang as an example, and they do purely scientific contributions in lifetime. I think that it is a very exciting thing in science to produce great contributions. I remember that I read a book more than 20 years ago. This book is very good, talking about the author's business things and his own feelings. In order to make the conclusion during the whole process in this thing, the only hope is to find the origin of life structure. I think that young people should do so. We can put the cause through our life. Sometimes, it is the painstaking effort in all our lives. In fact, we complete it so soon. Don’t be afraid of difficulty. Science has no national boundaries. Scientists have very objective evaluation criteria. I hope that young people study mysteries in nature, and can accomplish the scientific prosperity during the most important process in accordance with this standard.
Scientists are not in pursuit of money, but good study needs money to complete. In the past few years, I did Dongrun-Yau Science Award under the guidance of Chairman Dongsheng Chen eight years ago.
We begin to see the growth of the ability and level of the middle schools in the south and north, because of the enhancement of China's national strength. Now, we have many good teachers in high schools. At least, they have a lot of capabilities to do experiments.For example, it was not possible for the country to start the match seven or eight years ago. However, I saw a number of the first-class students in middle schools doing the first-class work, indicating that the government’s funding is helpful together with the actual grants by many entrepreneurs. I hope that the Government will continue to increase the investment in education, and the entrepreneurs should also continue to increase investment. Therefore, the achievements of young people will be helpful to the Chinese business community, which is also a great help to China.
