On behalf of Tsinghua University, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the holding of the Forum and to express my most sincere gratitude to all the guests coming all the way and to all the distinguished guests, who have been devoted to the science education of young people.
Young people decide the future and innovation creates the future. As an educator, I know the significance of education to a state and a nation and the whole human society. As we all know, China will be strong if the youth are strong. Jinping Xi, General Secretary of CPC Central Committee, said that the youth are the country's future and nation's hope. To realize Chinese nation's great rejuvenation, we need the young people to continue to strive from generation to generation.Young people are vibrant, as well as are the most dynamic and creative group in the world. Various schools, such as universities, secondary schools and primary schools, are the important environment for the growth of young people. Colleges and universities are responsible for the delivery of innovative and career-creating talents for China; they are new kinetic energy for stimulating economic development.
Tsinghua University has been taking the talent cultivation as its fundamental task, and striving for the country rich and strong national promotion, to cultivate talents featured by high-quality, high-level, diversified and creative. Recently, we are continuing to promote the comprehensive reforms, especially the reforms in education and instruction, facing for the country's long-term development strategies and the future trends of world changes. Aiming at the fundamental task of morality education and deepening the reform of the system of talent cultivation mechanism, we have established the Trinitarian education model of value creation, ability training and knowledge impartment, insisting and perfecting the education and instruction system of Tsinghua style with the world's first class and Chinese characteristics, as well as striving to cultivate the students with the healthy personality, innovative thinking, comprehensive foundation, global vision and social responsibilities. We attach great importance to innovation and education, and are committed to building an innovative country, so as to achieve the struggle goal of two one-hundred years, as well as to support the powerful talents and intellectual supports for the China Dream.
Dongrun Foundation is committed to helping young people to improve their own development capacities with their responsibilities in promoting the public spirit as well as helping the national scientific and technological talents development, so as to make significantcontributions to cultivating a new generation of the international competitiveness. I wish to express my heartfelt appreciation and support.It is our common vision and missions to inspire the innovative thinking of the younger generation, and to cultivate a new generation of the future leaders with innovative passion and agile thinking. The Forum aims to build a dialogue platform for Chinese young people and the outstanding scholars and entrepreneurs in various fields.
The Forum encourages young people to love scientific innovation and research, to enhance the adolescent-based public thinking and to foster their innovative consciousness. I am very pleased and excited to see a large number of scientists, educators, entrepreneurs and philanthropists in Tsinghua Campus, such as Mr. Chen-Ning Yang and Mr. Shing-Tung Yau, to discuss innovation and future education together, as well as commonly care for the development of adolescent education. I am very happy, very excited and greatly encouraged.
I hope that the Forum will help the comprehensive development of young students, protect their yearning and persistence to science.Moreover, the Forum will unite all the forces of the communityz, which can concern, discuss, support and lead the innovation education of young people in China. I wish all youth can establish the scientific ideal and adhere to scientific interests without forgetting the original intension, and then go forward in the direction of the dream!
