DYSA (Mathematics)

Background

  

Mathematical Sciences play a prominent role in the development and discovery of science and technology. The demand and expectation on sciences, technology and mathematical sciences will only increase in future.

  

In 2008,the first YHMA was held with the support of Mr. Dongsheng Chen, personnel support of his Taikang Life Insurance Company Ltd and sponsorship of John Templeton Foundation; the 7th Award has been run successfully in 2014.

  

Since 2015, the S. T. Yau High School Sciences Awards is organized by Prof. Shing-Tung Yau and the Dongrun Foundation founded by Ms. Dongmei Kong, and hereby officially changed its name to Dongrun-Yau Science Award. S. T. Yau High School Mathematics Awards changed its name to Dongrun-Yau Science Award (Mathematics) (DYSA (Math) in abbreviation).

Stimulate students’interest in mathematical research among high school students 

Encourage innovation in mathematical thinking among high school students 

Cultivate young mathematics talents 

Encourage articulation between high school teachers and university professors
